This is what I think:
There is a reason for everything though we may not always know it.
Despite the pain of the world, the way things are now are better than a lot of
ways it could've turned out.
It is the responsibility of the privileged to help the underprivileged. When we
are born knowing not hunger nor extensive physical labor it is because we are
expected to use our time to develop thought, and philosophy, and belief, and
faith, and righteousness so as to alleviate the hunger and labor of others.
Whereas they were born to bear the physical labor, we were born to make it so
that they could live decently while doing it. Physical labor will always be
needed, but it is the responsibility of those who are privileged to make sure
it is given freely and that the person giving it is well taken care of.
We should all be happy, everyone deserves it. But who could be happy in the
company of evil? No one. So we must surround ourselves with good acts, good
art, and good people. When we are clothed in good acts we can be separate from
evil, and then we can be happy. Even if evil is to surround us, the armor of
righteousness, justice, fairness, kindness, compassion, and zeal will protect
us.
The first step to being a good person is to realize how much we have done
wrong. Only then can we identify what we must improve.
To commit good acts is not to remove ourselves from evil, nor to run from it. I
believe that it is those who are the best people who must throw themselves into
the embrace of evil, and yet remain strong and oppose it. Would we throw a
weakling to fight the lions? Certainly not. So instead, we send our strongest
warriors into the abyss of evil, those we know can make a difference, and
emerge victorious.
It is ridiculous to think you cannot make a difference. Sometimes a few kind
words can make all the difference in a person’s life. It can give them the
strength to continue or the resolve to commit to what they could not have
overcome themselves.
We have been put here to help eachother. There is no goodness if it does not
affect other people. Our responsibilities are this: the people around us,
ourselves, and the earth that we have been made steward of. If you don't
believe in theological stewardship think about it this way:
1) We screwed up the planet, therefore it is our
responsibility to now restore it to health.
2) We are the highest intelligence on the planet and
therefore it is our responsibility to care for those creatures, plants, and
environments that do not possess our intelligence or our ability to act.
It is essential to human growth to gain inspiration. Whatever inspires you, you
should do that. The inspiration of art, other people, and other things allow us
to see new solutions, persevere, and learn about other people.
Deep down, everyone is good, everyone believes basically the same things, and
everyone just wants to be loved. The biological expression of this in the need
to reproduce is just that, simply a biological expression. The desire to be
loved is the most fundamental human trait. However, experiences in a person's
life can pervert this desire so that it appears to be something else. Still,
it's always there. Somewhere under the layers of a person's pain.
